All equipment will be manufactured at Alstom’s Vadodara facility in Gujarat, one of the company’s largest hydro manufacturing hubs worldwide. The state-of-the-art facility has all the necessary resources to accommodate the growing hydro demands in India.

Located on the Chenab River, Ratle is Alstom’s first major project in the Kishtwar district. This is also currently the largest power project being set up in the state of Jammu & Kashmir which faces an ever-increasing power demand. With almost 150 GW of exploitable hydro-potential as shown by the assessment made by Central Electricity Authority1 (CEA), India ranks 5th in the world. India is also the second fastest growing economy worldwide and the 6th largest energy consumer, accounting for 3.4% of global energy consumption.
